Talk:Warstrats
From Whisper's Wiki
History
This document begun life as a text file way back in Mid 2002 as a tip document for my team mates I played Counter-Strike with when we played in wars.
It then became a forum thread
It was futher refined over the next year when I finally converted it to a web page sometimes around July 2003
After that it was refined even more, with new idea's added as I discovered them. Basically a list of all the little things that can make a difference to either winning or losing a war in Counter-Strike.
Finally keeping track of all the changes was too much, along with quite a few people offering to contribute idea's as well, so November 2005 I made the warstrats guide the wiki you see here today.
Things to be done
- Fix stupid tables so they center align the contents (Yay - all done now without a ridiculous amount of formatting)
- Source & CS 1.6 Weapons are different, Source needs a different weapon table (done for the most part)
- Weapon tables could be more precise in general
- Grammar and spelling errors, although please do not confuse American English with actual English. Organise & Armour is the correct spelling everywhere English is spoken outside of the U.S. thanks!
- More pictures to explain what the hell I am talking about

umm with refelx 2 and practising ur aim should all "misses" be on 0?
- I don't know if you wrote it on purpose, but armour does affect the knife (very slighty). An unarmoured stab does 65 damage, whilst an armoured one does 55. A slash normally does 15 damage and armoured it does 12-13 damage. A slash to the head goes for 60 damage and armoured 50, while if you slash the back of the head in CSS is an instant kill. Also, you wrote somewhere "Accuarcy". Typo? Dictionary says it's accuracy. Great job.
- accuracy fixed, you can fix those typos yourself for me, there are probably 100's of others :) The armour/knife thing, are you 100% sure. My recollection is that it made bugger all difference, well nothing that was outside the damage randomiser limits. But if you are sure, then we can ammend the table, it is not a big deal, P.S. are we talking about knifing in CS or CCS?. Thanks --Whisper 03:47, 13 November 2005 (EST)
- I am 100% sure that armour does affect the knife in CS1.6. The only thing I'm not sure about is those 15 and 12/13 damage with the normal slash, but if it's not those values, it's pretty close. I guess I could load up CS and check it out. As for the rest, I know cause I've spent too many years in knife maps. :) Sintra 00:29, 19 November 2005 (EST)

- I was reading through your guide and I either didn't see anything about mp5 v deagle or i glanced over it..Would you recommend the pistol (any pistol) or an mp5 on a team save (Regular save, not ECO) round? My clan encounters this problem quite a bit so i was wondering what your thoughts were.
The buy strats are very very basic. They are here to introduce newer players to certain concepts involving the economics of Counter-Strike.
WARNING: If you are a Counter-Terrorist this strategy is very susceptible to the DE RUSH. My only advice is that if you are playing at a level where teams can pull off a DE RUSH successfully, you should have your own buy strategies by now!
- That should clarify my thoughts a little for you.
- I do not understand what you mean by (Regular save, not ECO). Buying an MP5 is not eco'ing, as it is a $1500 gun with no range.
